About Jim

Jim Webber has over two decades of experience as an employment lawyer and human resources manager representing employers in both the public and private sectors. Jim has successfully defended companies in court and before administrative agencies, and has helped employers develop and implement sound business practices to avoid litigation and workplace problems. He has conducted workplace investigations and facilitated conflict resolutions. His goal is to help organizations create and maintain great work environments.

Jim’s training programs are designed to both educate and entertain. (One of his recent evaluations said, “At last! An attorney who speaks plain English, makes sense and is funny!”) With interactive learning exercises, real-life stories and clear learning points, Jim’s training is very popular with all levels of employees, supervisors and directors. Training Programs lists the programs being offered. Customized sessions can be created for your organization.

Investigating harassment and discrimination complaints can be stressful and frightening. The outcome of an investigation provides the basis for critical employment decisions — a prompt, thorough and unbiased review is an essential part of both preventing liability and maintaining a healthy workplace. For those instances when an investigation is required, Jim Webber Investigations can either conduct the investigation or can coach your internal investigator through the process from start to finish.

Jim Webber Consulting works with management on discipline issues, policy review and implementation, liability assessment and other workplace concerns. A few minutes consulting on the telephone when a problem is in its early stages can often prevent hours of frustration in the future. For employment matters that have moved into litigation, Jim Webber Mediation is available to help seek an early resolution without the great expense of a trial.

Last but not least, Jim’s blog “Evil Skippy at Work” offers a useful and hopefully entertaining look at what makes workplaces great and not-so-great. Whether you are a new employee or experienced manager, a CEO or HR Director – Jim’s goal (with a little help from Evil Skippy) is to provide observations, advice and stories that will help you make your workplace as great as it can be.
